Gardone Riveria and Salo

... and walked into the main part of the town. We found a restaurant along the water and had simple pizza and pasta for lunch. Then we walked to our favourite gelati shop at the other end of town and had our fix of icecream. Geoff and I tried a new flavour, Sale de Cervia, basically like a salted chocolate caramel.....seriously good!! Then we headed home and spent the afternoon packing, reading and getting some school work done. We had dinner at ...

... outside the city walls in 30 AD, something that blows your mind as you're sitting on the same stone steps. The boys just couldn't comprehend such an amount of time and I must say, it's hard myself. Our seats were to the right of the stage, up in the high stone steps. It was lightly raining and it made the view across the lake a bit blurred. We parked by the ...

I braved the light rain and hoped it would clear rather than get heavier and went for a walk down to the town of Gardone Riveria where we ate last night. It was a good walk down the hill (a little tough in places where there are no footpaths but luckily very little traffic) and a harder but equally beautiful walk back up again. Took me about 50 minutes as a round trip and something that I needed to do. When ...

Signori e Signore. The judges (us), after extensive research, have arrived at their final decision and the winners of the top five villagi on Lago di Garda are now announced. Honourable mention goes to Toscalano on the west coast. We didn't see much of the villagio except for the cafe on the ferry stop where we had a spritz. The drink and the view warranted the special mention. In 5th spot is Salò, also on the west coast. It has a ...
