My birthday was actually on Sunday, but as I discovered after other teachers' birthdays, in Taiwan your birthday lasts a whole week. ... took us to our place. Once we arrived, we thanked Ina again and told her we would definitely have to meet up in Florida when we could. This has probably been the best experience we have had on this trip so far. We are blessed to have such good luck and to make new friends. We are a little sad to leave, but we are confident that we will see each other again. As for tomorrow, we are off to Penghu Island!

I also managed to have an entirely different family with my tai-chi group. Even though we couldn't communicate in the usual way we understood each other and learned from each other. And I didn't know most of their names!! (because they didn't have English names) I am so fortunate to have explored this part of the Taiwanese culture and met so many fantastic people as a result. Thank you to my translators Alison and 'Smiley' ...

... The original owner was actually there too. Kelli said he had never been there before when she was there. It was so amazing to talk to him because he seemed so wise. He was 88 and still working a lot. We were lucky enough to take pictures with him, although it did take some time to figure out how many people he could have in the picture with him. Then we hopped a train back home and hit the sack before school this morning.
