    Alongside me in the queue for the 19:05 bus from Berlin Hbf to Szeczin for phase 18.7 (b) of the journey to Warsaw is James. He's on the way from his home in Münster to teach English for a week in the Polish hills. I find out that like me he's into his amateur dramatics as we await the arrival of the 22:00 sleeper train at the train station later. My ream of fudged-together 'tickets' ...

    ... tenderloin for Heather followed by an ice cream and hot cherry dessert. This was washed down with their Chilean house wine and a couple of cocktails and we had change out of £30.00.

    So after one full day we got a fairly good feel for the city which, were we here in summer, would be much brightened up with outdoor dining and plenty of flowers that were just starting to peak through as it is only the start of spring.

    ... Szczecin. The city was originally in German territory and called 'Stettin', but after WW2 it was given to Poland, who in turn changed the city name to something completely unpronounceable.

    I rolled into my new home around 17:30 local time after arriving at Pasewalk station. I was picked up by Peter, a local who works at the Schloss.
