Pam's Visit: City #1 Day 2

... knitted goods, amazing food, cheese, jellies and jams, cookies, chocolate, pottery, etc. It was a great place to buy Christmas gifts. We got Glühwein for the first time and ate gingerbread cookies. We took another short nap at the Hostel and watched CNN on the tv and watched the NYSE open in the US. We found an awesome restaurant to got to dinner, the ...

Pam's Visit: City #1 Hamburg

... walk from the S-bahn station. It was very nice and clean. We had 4 other roommates who were quiet. I had to do my best to keep Pam moving and awake so that she would go to sleep at a normal time and get on Germany time as fast as possible, but she was like a zombie! Unfortunately it was Sunday and not many stores are open. We went to the harbor first to see the ships and stuff. It was raining and basically ...

On the beach of the North Sea

Continuing on, we headed on up to Germany through Austria and the mountains...covered in a light touch of snow. It looked like icing sugar!! It was really pretty. We had lunch in Innsbruck, and cutting a long drive short, we ended up in Lubeck to see Dieter and Christel. We spent a good day and half there or something, had a look around Travemunde again, and had some very yummy dinners!!

But all in all was a quick stop, just a hi and bye as we had to get down ...

It was a dull, dreary, and misty summer day!

... Then one of the older gentlemen came in and he was from Copenhagen and so we chatted about Denmark. I learned a lot about other cultures and countries during this stay. It was quite informative. This morning the weather sucked. It was dull and dreary and a light mist fell all morning. With my sore back, which seemed to be getting worse, it was an awful travelling day. The older gentleman from Copenhagen had suggested I visit the west ...

Workstation

The alarm bell rang at 8.30 am and we had breakfast before we went off to the beach where we met Nik. He told us what to do and the next days we arranged flags and banner and did a lot of construction work from the morning to the evening even it was raining or sunny. The other guys working there were nice and in the evenings we often had some beer with them ...

The Arrival

Having a relaxed ride along the coastline we went down well at St. Peter Ording. The reason we got there is because of the Kite Surf World Cup which started on the August 23rd. Two weeks ago we contacted the leader of the marketing company and asked for a job. He gave us one to build on the festival area.

Waypoint

Hey, sorry we stopped writing this blog for the last days but we were busy all the days working... you will be informed later ;-) Now we try to inform you about the last days of our trip. After Bremerhaven we wanted to have a look at Cuxhaven, some friends recommended it to us. It is the opposite of Bremerhaven with its pretty old harbor and again an old town. We had bread roll with fish which was very tasty... We walked around and later we started for St. Peter Ording.

Let's Dance

... the excitement really never stops. After lunch we were enticed into a nice, short, relaxing walk to a hotel down the road for a free buffet of coffee and cake. Now, i must admit that when we got there the cake was daaaamn good, and the coffee was coffee. And we needed it. This short walk turned out to be about 5 km through sand to a tiny swimming pool where 5 people swam and the rest waited. After ...

Where's The Beef In This Hamburg...er

... being out we saw the smallest car I had ever seen. I could have sworn it was just a fancy golf cart. Later we learned it was just a Smart Car, but before they made it to America years later I was amazed by it. It was a rainy day so we didn't spend too much time out side but instead learned a lot about German television, which can be summed up as confusing. Next day we woke up and headed to the station to catch the train to Copenhagen.
