... Vienna opera house, street musicians performing in the streets. Vienna is a shoppers dream, which I would compare with London, Paris or New York. There is a street (actually 3 or 4 blocks) which is referred to as the "unaffordable street". We saw many well known stores: Mont Blanc, Louis Vuitton, Ferrari, Maserati, Tiffany, etc. We spent 3.5 days in Vienna, visiting the ...

Today we slept in a bit. We had a slow beginning of the day. I put a load of wash in the washer. Thank goodness the owner was here and a woman, Heidi, who spoke excellent English. A kneeling statue of Maximillian sits atop the ...

... we had a drink at the bar and took our laptop down there where it works a lot better!! Tonight we walked down to what seems like a local social club. It was full of Austrians and they seem to be enjoying themselves. The meal was okay – I had fish but as you can tell it wasn’t outstanding. Doesn’t matter. Back in the room for planning for tomorrow and it doesn’t seem that noisy after all thank goodness.

... so often but sometimes it got quite dark for a second or two. The way in was twisty and actually increased in elevation about 5-6 meters. Once there we walked through the mine and saw several films on how the mining was done. Fortunately there were audio guides in English for us. Most of the commentary was in German with just a little English to get across the main ideas. Some of the older tunnels were very low, hence the hard ...
