    This morning we were up early to try and make the most of our last full day in Paris. After another traditional French breakfast in a local brasserie we caught the train to Versailles palace. For some reason Alex thought this place would be less touristy and quieter - how wrong he was! We had to line line up twice - to buy tickets then to get into the palace. There were so many people! Especially in the palace it was very crowded. ...

    ... was a bit of stuffing around finding the spot, and getting into it, as there was a bunch of others also swanning around trying to find their spots and parking on the alleyways, and then walking back to the office for better instructions, and so on....     ... 10 mins from opening time and only about 20 people ahead of us. Glad we did- within 1/2 an hour the line was about 3 blocks long! Spent 4 hours absorbing the atmosphere and managing to find all the mandatory "must sees" , Mona and Venus etc. Then visited some of the out of the out of the way exhibits that weren't surrounded by mainly Asian tourists trying to photograph everything with phones, tablets etc trying to take selfies with paintings behind them.     ... switching on and off the metro so many times, we were bound to loose at least one
    of us - and sure enough we lost me at the Concord stop. We were all in a rush to make it on the metro for our next stop. Everyone gets on and im at the end of the pack and the doors slam right in front me...leaving me trying to open the door staring into Sarah's eye with sheer panic as the metro leaves me with my hair blowing backwards from all the wind.
