A beautiful sight awaited when we awoke to find that we were moored off Cannes. So much better than Monte-Carlo. It is a very attractive town. We walked around the town and up to the Fort and the Church of St. Nicholas via lovely narrow winding paths with lots of shops and restaurants. There is also a lovely covered market selling fruit, vegetables, flowers and fish etc.displayed as only the French can do. We stop for the inevitable pit ...

Overall, it was an amazing weekend of traveling. I am looking forward to many more in the upcoming weeks! I am loving how I can have mini-vacations almost every weekend! Adieu for now!

... in walking slowly down the centre of the street and, when waiting in line behind you, in whacking the backs of your knees with their shopping bags. There is a babble of many languages at the hostel, and somehow the people don't seem friendly (staff aside). For example just staring blankly at me when I whack my head on a cabinet and make pained noises, or staring blankly at me as I try to get through a door with hands full of fruit. ...
