... informed us that gas was expensive - equivalent to 42 cents/litre US. Saudi Arabia gas was only 16centsUS/litre. Dubai is a wealthy country and the guide said the average family owns 5-6 cars. However apartment rents were around $2,000 a month. The water is safe to drink however it is desalinated water, so bottled water is consumed.
