A great hotel, in an area where there is loads of places to eat etc, and its also very well appointed for hopping on and off the tokyo metro system. The rooms are a good size for japanese rooms and very comfortable. The staff are fantastic, very helpful, and the hotel itself is great place to stay. There's a reason we have stayed here 5 times in the last 4 years

We awoke to another splendid day in Tokyo, with the prospect of Asahi beer, temples and the Skytree to look forward too. Our first stop was Ueno park where we saw some beautiful shrines, blossom trees and met some lovely Japanese people who were only too keen to welcome us and wish us a happy stay. The people here are truly lovely and speak very …

The sights and smells of the local fish market was our first stop on our first day in Tokyo. It was amazing to see the hustle and bustle of the market, we even managed to find a coffee shop amongst the traditional shops. From there we travelled to the Imperial Gardens in the hope of seeing some cherry blossom, unfortunately this was to no avail. …

The flight from Aukland to Tokyo was longer than we expected (11 and a half hours!!). It was also all in the daytime, so there was no nap to break up the trip. However, we managed very well with our e-readers, games, and sewing a brand new doll (Ella) with a "Sew Your Own My Best Friend" kit. The highlight of the trip was when the flight attendant …

I had just 36 hrs in Perth between Ghana and Japan having landed early hours of Monday 3 Feb. Enough time to unpack, watch the super bowl, make last minute arrangements, dinner with family, feed Blake food for the first time, be amazed at him walking, then get a taxi to the airport for the flight via Singapore to Tokyo. No rest for the wicked. …
