I was woken at 5.00am by noise from deliveries in the courtyard outside the hotel, I am not sure if they were delivering to the hotel or to the shops under the hotel, anyway it's a city centre hotel so it's bound to happen, I tried to get back to sleep but no chance so I put tv on and watched BBC world news, all doom and gloom as usual. I got up and had a shower then at 6.30am went for breakfast, all the usual, hot food, Danish, coffee and apple juice oh and a ...

End of another day and it was a good ...

... closed so being an inquisitive person I went to investigate, the closer I got it became clear there was a demonstration March in progress, it's was all about immigrants getting papers and rights such as medical care and schooling for their children, there were about 4000 people and hundreds of police all dressed in riot gear, some police had large canisters strapped to their backs and I am guessing this was tear gas or something like that, they were ...

... between various cities. His van had eight passenger seats, so we were travelling with two Dutch girls, an old Turkish guy and a German American sailor I sat next to and made friends with. We talked about everything; our lives, our travels, languages, culture, racism, blah blah. He spent a long time telling me about all the places he'd been to for work and all the different ships he's captained and explained in detail how he got ...
