... Rhine from our window. Notice I said a nice view... The small double we had is sandwiched between the 'standard double' that have a balcony. We didn't care. We were in a great neighborhood :)

The days were spent driving the small roads right next to the river and stopping to climb up to a fortress or a castle or just sit and watch the barges and the river cruise ships go by.

... basically ready to leave as well and had even checked if I could change my flight to one week earlier. Nevertheless I had a great last week and perfect last 3 days. ... railings and parked along the street and at the station. People riding to and from work, shops, visiting etc. Even in business suits or dresses. Even on the phone, with no hands, or carrying all of the shopping home. Lots of customised bikes too... Prams or carts on the front, bikes with two seats and one set of pedals... Fun to see - and there is no dawdling - it's GO or STOP. We had to be very alert at the road ...

... big Christmas tree setup and apparently the Rathaus steps are quite famous for having many VIPs standing there and waving. That includes JFK and Ban Ki Moon.

We stopped for lunch and Steffie had a Currywurst at the Farmers Market before we took a look at the church. It was quite dark inside, but it had nice windows and an ambiance all of its own. I don’t like going into so many churches now that I have been in so many, but you would be surprised how ...
