On a (very) early Saturday morning we checked out of our hotel in Nantes wearing ski jackets and flew to the south side of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Ski jackets were quickly traded for shorts, flip flops and sunburnt British tourists as apparently we had arrived in the Mexico of Europe! Burger King at the airport - yes to a Whopper! Then aboard our flight. Had great sunset views with the volcano: El Teide sillhouetted against the back drop and the clouds falling away beneath us. A perfect end to a perfect trip. Our first together, but hopefully not our last.
