    ... Taichung/Tainan to the Taiwan Strait and heading to China. We will have to wait for the damage caused in the southern mountains around Tainan, Kaoshiung and Pintung, an area which was devastated and killed over 600 people by biblical floods caused by Typhoon Morakot.

    My photos are just the tip of the real damage and taken ...

    ... to put in the cover! Too bad I didn't have room for the beautiful quilt my aunt made me.. It would of matched beautifully.

    Well, on a bit of a scarier note.. There is a Super Typhoon headed straight for Taiwan! Not quit sure why they call it SUPER, maybe because of it's strength but I don't like the sounds of it! I am hoping it will be like the last one and miss us but by all the forecasts, I don't think we will be that lucky! ...

    I was fortunate enough to be chosen as one of 2 foreign teachers to accompany a group of 26 students from Guangzhou to join with Beijing and Shenzhen students in a 6 day tour of Taiwan.

    In total, we had 72 kids, and a bus for each city group. The kids were pretty good, but I did feel a bit sorry for other tourists sometimes when we rolled up with such a big group.

    ... yesterday we went to the barbie cafe for lunch which was a dream come true !! It was like being 8 again and we were so super excited about the pink decoration, the cute little barbie cakes and the glitter everywhere ! The interior was truly something and I ordered a chocolate caramel toast which was really delicious although quite odd... Well I find the idea of a toast dessert strange anyway �� we also went past ...

    ... and a not to be missed sight in Taipei. This temple was awarded the UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage Award for it's preserving and renovation work. We completed our tour of this area and made a quick stop at a Family Mart for a quick bite and cool down. These (including 7-11s) are truly convenient stores. You can purchase some pre-packaged food and the staff with microwave it for you so you can eat it! Great ...
