Paris, Île-de-France, France anafrota... We did not spend much time there, we just hopped in and hopped out. We saw the Mona Lisa (I said hi) and we saw the Egyptian Exhibit. That was it. The mummies were closed off too! We were supposed to go to a movie Sunday, then Monday, then Wed., then today, but no cigar. They are starting to emit Reeder genes. On Friday we are going to AquaLand. I'm praying that there will be decent weather.
Love,
Kate
... I have had), With this in mind would I become a convert? Further on I arrived at my first destination, Notre Dame, only to have the "end of today's line" sign shoved in front of me, stopping me joining the line (like literally in front of me blocking me)...and no amount of words of encouragement would let me pass. I didn't climb the tower 10 years ago because of the crowds, today I didn't get to climb because it was ...
Paris, France raniroo... into our luggage--did not end up mailing things home from Paris, too expensive and too much hassle re Postale. So we will stagger off at 2:45 this afternoon with dead weight luggage that we somehow have to negotiate down a steep spiral staircase to the lobby. Was so frustrated by losing an entry yesterday with what I considered scrummy details re visits to Versailles and the Louvre (most of what have to say about the ...
Paris, France lrandal... Mona Lisa is bigger than I thought it would be...Jk! It is small and now the crowd can't really even get close. The Louvre palace is pretty amazing in itself, but we had seen enough art by the end of the day. After visiting the Louvre, we walked down to the Place de Concorde (obleisk there now - used to be the guillatene durng the revolution. We ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France aacree... if they called it the French Horn since the French seem to want to use theirs every few feet while driving. You go down under the roundabout and emerge under the Arc de Triomphe. It's free to go out underneath the arch, but you have to pay to go up on top of it. Still reeling from by $6 Coke and figuring we'd get better views from the Eiffel Tower, we opted for the underneath option. The size of the ...
Paris, France jasonandsarah... creations. I spent much of the time looking closely at how they attached the feathers and back pieces. I have lots of ideas for samba costumes Clo and Lua! After the show, it was time for an ice cream and back to the hotel where Julie-Anne gave me a wonderful foot massage whilst we sat and chatted about the day. Nice birthday aye!! Most of all I have enjoyed spending time with my darling friend Julie-Anne. We are ...
Paris, France suily... especially the entrees) were delicious and the service wonderful. It was a lovely night. Such a shame I was having a coughing fit throughout most of it. But anyway, I recouped and met Miss Carmenelli the next morning (while Shelley & Beth sat for Brunch) and we checked out Notre Dame from the interior. And since it was a Sunday morning we got a glimpse at the Sunday service also. The leadlight windows are amazing in the cathedral; so detailed it's truly stunning. Sadly ...
Paris, France jacinta81... parted ways and I went to the museum. I barely made it to the train station in time but I made it and arrived in Paris late Tuesday evening and finally found my hostel. I don't want to sound repetitive but it was bad, we will leave it at that. It was too late to do anything so i used the internet for a minute to find another place and went there Wednesday morning, better, not great, but it has been fine. My days have been jam packed though. On Wednesday I walked around the ...
Paris, France lowensCheck out is at noon, so we wake up at 10:30. Take showers, pack up our bags and get ready to go. We go the train station to drop off our bags, and then we head to the Eiffel Tower. This structure is really darn awesome. Its not the prettiest color, but it is an engineering beauty (see, I am using my degree) and the views from it are awesome. It is only 3 euro to climb it to the second level, so Zundo and I decide to do it. GREAT IDEA. For how ...
