We did our research and ended up booking scuba diving for 35.00 each for a half hour dive off the coast. That day happened to be market day as well, so we were able to buy a few necessities that were 'taken' from us a few weeks beforehand.

... on but how it happened is beyond me. The boat was not that big and the crowd certainly felt enormous. We left late and the trip took a bit longer than normal (because the boat was so low in the water?) and the poor Australians docked with just 20 minutes to get to their cruise. We'll never know if they made it. We, however, had a simple walk to the bus station to head to Turkey's most famous ruin: Ephesus.
