Time to get to work

I am so far behind with this blog. Partly, it's because we have traveled every single month during 2009. There's so much to tell & show that unless I write every week, I'm always several trips behind. The other problem is ...

Moral: Don't Let Ash Fall on You!

Ola Kala: simply, OK (in Greek). No time for lots of flap.....we're on the go. The Vatican Museums await us (and we can hardly wait to do more walking!). Enjoy the pictures and we'll fill you in on the adventure next time I make the time to sit and gab.

We're still having a grand time!!!!!

naples: l'afreuse!

Naples - best place in Italy so far...

... so far.
Naples is not a nice city, but it's a cool city. Venice, Florence, Verona are all nice, but once you've seen the sights, there isn't much else to them.

Walking around the Spaccanapoli district saw some really cool stalls and shops - some that looked like they had been there for ages and not changed much at all. Old school book stores with books piled high and seemingly without any order or system, a stretch on San Sebastiano that ...

My Island home... I wish...

... and infesting what is such a beautiful place (I'm not sure if that counts as racism?!?) but what I can say is that I am so glad that we visited Ischia and it is definitely my favourite place so far (I've probably said that about lots of places...i'm a little bit impulsive). I really enjoyed the change of pace and the complete and total relaxation after what seems like an eternity of museum, church and castle visits. Although I am glad that I ...

Possibly the Dirtiest Preserved City in the World

... us," may have been an understatement. The dreary weather forced us to accelerate our self-guided tour as the day went on. It wasn't until much later that we discovered we had missed the biggest attraction - the brothel. We had to get another tourist show us pictures of the very explicit wall paintings. One way or another I'll always see everything.

Heading south

... cheaper relatively quickly as it was getting dark, I kept wandering. All of a sudden this little three-wheeled mini truck came clunking up the road and stopped - holding up a line of traffic behind it. A blonde Brit popped his head out and asked if I was looking for internet. I told him that in fact I was looking for a room. He got out and pointed up the hill saying that he and his brother, Willy, owned a hostel with the best view of the sunrise in Amalfi - only 15 Euro per person ...
