Today we took a free walking tour of the city and learned a lot about the history of Romania that dates back centuries as well as more recent history of Romania as a communist nation and how that strongly affected the country in just the past decades. The architecture here is such an interesting juxtaposition of very old, communist era, and modern, all right next to each other. After the tour we had a delicious traditional ...

    try to ride the ...

Horses and cows seem to be able to roam where they liked for the most part. Unfortunately so do the dogs. They are everywhere. I expected them but it is still frightening when they chase after you and appear to try and bite your legs. I had to out run 2 dogs up a hill. First I thought about kicking them away but one was way too ...

Waking up in Belgrade, we both felt like we had grit in our teeth from the very air. Seeing the city in the daylight, it seemed just as dirty as the evening before but not protected by the cover of night. We left the car parked at the hostel and walked in the direction of the Kalmegdan fortress that we'd read about but still had no real idea what it was. Everyone we passed had yummy looking pastries, so we added a bakery to our list of attractions to see and picked up a ...
