Well located with a very good infra-structure. Should have wi fi in the room as well, it was only available at the lounge.

Hotel was ok, its a tad run down but did the job, it is in a great location, right in the middle of town near all the shops and the trolleys.

It was a nice stay mainly because the hotel's location was really great. In the middle of SFO main shopping area. Around the hotel you can find all the branded shops and department stores as well as the famous cable car main station.

But the hotel has a very old feel to it, especially the bathroom. Room was pretty okay.

Staffs were very polite and helpful.

All in all it was a nice stay.

      Good Value Clean Rooms

Generally the hotel was very good. Helpful staff, clean rooms nicely appointed. My only issues were that wifi was a cost option from your room when the literature made it appear free. Free internet access was only available from 2 floors from fixed computers, also no fridge in the bedroom, and they didn't restock the team and coffee during our 4 day stay. None of these issues are major concerns but just the difference between a 4 and 5 star ranking. We would stay here again.

The first day of our stay we liked to have a nice and well located hotel in the centre of San Francisco. And a hotel that could be easily reached by public transport. Parc 55 Wyndham met all the requirements.
We had a very pleasant stay.

      Nice Hotel, BAD LOCATION

I got this reservation through Priceline. I thought that the hotel was very nice, but was dissapointed that a 4 star would not have a pool. My biggest complaint is the location. Anyone going to San Fran would be much better off staying at the Fairmount, or the Mark's Hotel. They are in much better areas. When you leave the hotel you can literaly see 20 homeless people in a mattar of minutes. Walk a bit more and you will see 30, 40, 50. The hotel is just outside the tenderloin area, which is the worst part of town. I was literally scared to walk around after 8 p.m at night. DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR, FOR THE MONEY YOU SPEND TO STAY HERE, TAKE IT AND SPEND IT AT THE WESTIN, THE FAIRMOUNT, OR THE MARK'S. The Hilton, and Nikko hotel are right next to the PARC 55, so i wouldnt bother with those either.I think that my post is very factual, please heed this advice.

      Ideal Big Chain Hotel

You never really know what to believe when you read sites like trip advisor, so, needless to say, I was quite anxious when my wife and I checked in. We travel at least once a month and prefer to stay in "boutique" hotels, but after staying at the Parc 55, I can honestly say, that I'd stay here again. From the front desk clerk who gave us a room with a view when told it was our anniversary, to the porter who helped with directions to breakfast, everyone was very friendly. The room was very large, very clean and very comfortable. With 33 floors and a few hundred rooms, I expected the elevators to be slower than molasses. I was wrong. All in all, I'd give the hotel 4.5 out of 5 stars. A half of a point was deducted for having a room that connected to another room. It allowed the noise to travel through a little easier, and of course, the adjoining room was a family with bickering kids.

      Great place to stay

Stayed here recently in August , great room and location , no complaints , very clean

      Never again!

Yeee-uck! This hotel stinks! We arrived at the hotel and had a difficult time checking in even though we had all our confirmation numbers and print-out from Orbitz. It was described as a 4 star hotel but I think they need to review it again! Our room was comparable to a roadside motel and DIRTY! I found a pair of mens underwear in the drawer and a used kleenex on the floor- I called down to front desk and complained- they moved us to another room that was just as dirty! I asked about a wet bar or refrigerator and they said we could RENT one(Refrigerator) for an additional 25.00 a day! The staff were cold and uncaring- and they charged us TWICE for our stay! After a month we finally got our money back! P.s. We did call Orbitz to ask for a hotel change and they said they wouldnt guarantee us getting our money back for the Parc even if we didnt stay! Never again!

      Great hotel, great location

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for five nights, and we thought it was outstanding. Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. We walked to Chinatown (though it was a long walk) and drove to Fisherman's Wharf. The concierge was extremely helpful in planning our daytrip to Sonoma. The airport is 20 minutes away, at most. We booked on Expedia and couldn't have been more pleased with their advice, as this hotel deserves its four-star status. Wpuld absolutely stay there again.

      Great convention hotel

Arrived in city by BART. Hotel is literally steps away from the Powell St. station. Also very close to Moscone Center. My standard room was luxuriously furnished, altho a little on the small side for 2 double beds. A family would have been VERY crowded, but for one person on a business trip the room was fine.

      Terrific Stay

Awesome stay. Had a great room on the 27th floor with a nice northern view towards the financial district. The updated room was very clean, spacious, with a nice bathroom. The concierge was extremely helpful in helping us with transportation and tour arrangements. Even the restaurant had terrific food. Don't let it scare you if it's relatively empty. The location is good near Union Sq, theaters, shops/restaurants, and the cable car line. It's typical urban with the associated elements, but we never felt threatened. Don't wait too late to jump on the cable car lest you wait in line for quite a stint.

      What a great hotel

My husband and I stayed a week at the Parc 55 and were very impressed with the hotel. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The concierge made several dinner reservations for us and gave recommendations on good places to dine.We would recommend this place to anyone. We made the reservation through Priceline, and afterward, I read several online reviews that commented on the "seedy area." I became a little worried to see what I had gotten us into. But we had no complaints at all. Of course, it IS the city and you'll have to expect some homeless people being around. That's to be expected in the city. We walked pretty much everywhere we went and never had any trouble. We would definitely go back.

      Great Location in San Francisco

Stayed at this hotel for a conference. It has a great location near the cable cars and Union Square.

The rooms were very nice, quiet and very clean. Service outstanding.

      Great stay at Parc 55

The Renaissance Parc 55 was a great place to stay in the City by the Bay!

On my recent visit (oct 10-13, 2002), I was surprised that a huge (1,000 rooms) hotel could offer such good service.

Check-in was easy and friendly. My 24th floor corner room was large and well-furnished (albeit with the typical chain hotel stuff, but it was fine). Views of downtown and the surrounding hills were incredible.

The rooms feature excellent work desks, lounging chairs and a cocktail table. Bathrooms were huge with high-end bath products. There's nightly turndown service as well, and a newspaper is delivered to your door on weekdays.

The location was great - right next to the Powell St. Cable car turnaround and steps from the great shopping around Union Square. There are restaurants APLENTY on the streets around the hotel.

MUNI streetcars, buses, and BART are across the street from the hotel. Many attractions are within walking distance if you can stand all of San Francisco's hills.

Weekend rates are among the best in the city among the high-end hotels.

Since Kevin had to be at Berkley for Thanksgiving, the family decided to go and visit him which gave me a chance to see San Francisco :-) We took an open-top bus tour on Thanksgiving Day. It was so strange sitting on the bus in the sun in a t-shirt on 27th November passing Christmas trees!

A juice and some fruit eaten standing up at Walgeens served as breakfast before we made our way to Blazing Saddles to hire bikes for the day. Duly kitted out we biked through attractive SF suburbs, up to Alamo Square to see the famous Painted Ladies (a series of colourful typical SF houses with a nice view over the city) and into the massive Golden …

We hung out as real tourists today and spent the morning strolling through the tourist shops down at Pier 39 and Fishermans Wharf. We lunched in the famous Boudin sourdough …

Do and Sid wanted one final piece of Americana before we American breakfast at a diner. So that's what we did, pancakes and waffles in Lori's Diner. It was busy, clearly breakfast is a popular thing in SF. It was then back to our hotel to pick up our baggage and walk to the BART, the metro out to the airport. That was the much cheaper …

Sleeping late we just had a simple meusli with yoghurt at Walgreens before jumping into a taxi to find a true Italian Cappucino in North Beach, the Little Italy of San Francisco. We were semi successful in that we found the cappucino but it wasn't the best that we've had. We wandered past Washington Sq up the VERY steep hill to the Coit Tower on …
