      Travel Blogs from Stroudsburg

A the very beginning, how it all started

A travel blog entry by augustwanderer on Jan 23, 2015

I chose today to start my blog because it is a particularly fine day in Allentown: Sunny, cloudless, 40F degrees and more importantly: I just received my visa last night and booked my ticket, so Dharamsala, here I come, finally. Well, not quite. I need to get a few things clear. First of all, I have not got the faintest idea where I am from. I have lived at a few places in my life, some longer, some shorter, none of which I care to ...

      Delaware Water Gap Waterfalls

... of three tiers and combined, form the highest waterfall in Pennsylvania. We hiked the short trails to see the different tiers, starting at the upper falls, which is a cascade before the big drop. We could see the top of the main drop and tell it was a big one, but needed to go down for a good view. So we headed down the wooden boardwalks for views of the middle drop. It was quite impressive and we spent a while enjoying the view. ...

The water flows over a rock face and falls about 18 feet ...

We are still in Milford, Pennsylvania which, happily, is also the home of Blue Stone Studio where David and Joann Greenbaum display their gorgeous pottery and artwork. Some of David's pottery has been manipulated so artfully, that it's difficult to believe it is clay and not marble or glass. He doesn't apply any glazes, but instead uses multiple firings, oxidation and burnishing processes along with etching and throwing ...

      Don Laine Campground

A travel blog entry by heavenonearth on Oct 14, 2014

... an oil change. On the back to the campground we went through Allentown and Bethlehem. There are some nice parts of both towns but there seem to be a lot more not-so-good parts. Palmerton was a very nice town. There are a lot of coal mines up in this area. The rolling hills around Palmerton were just beautiful. This was our last campground before we headed to Delaware to stay for the ...
