... site with an impressive five hundred temples. Emerging down some inconspicuous steps from the main high street this all opened up before us. Hundreds of locals were in the midst of offering prayers, cleaning themselves in the ghats, listening to holy men and performing their rituals.

... and that’s what we got - extremely basic but clean and the family owners were really nice. It was just for one night. They asked if we would like a traditional home cooked meal for our dinner (obviously we had to pay for it) which we thought would be nice, so accepted.
