... object stalls as well as been shouted at for not understanding that two tickets were needed, one for the gardens and one for the palace, but that you had to buy the palace tickets in one kiosk, and gardens in the kiosk next door, we arrived in the blissful peace of the gardens. They are famed for having a massive collection of cacti and succulents, and these were spectacular, but for us it was the setting, above the blue sea and stunning roses (the scent was amazing) and ...

... map, The Cathedral of the Assumption (felt we should do one church at least as there are so many) and the best iced coffee I have ever had. So by the time we went out to eat, I was stressed as well as starving. Forgot to put lipstick on - that's how bad it was. Back to Plakomoto and lovely view for risotto and salad with a nice bottle of rose to settle our nerves.

    Another exhausting day on holiday!

... a lovely wander around the cobbled streets, we came across a place I had heard about and was keen to visit; the church of Sveta Bogoroditsa. Like all churches built during the Ottoman period, it was wasn't allowed to be higher than a mosque, so it was built partly below ground level; when we entered the purple flower-filled courtyard we had to go down some steps to reach the entrance. It was small but wonderful inside. Nearly everything was wooden! Even ...
