It has been a very busy two weeks. We began our teaching on Halloween week, and so as you have seen from the pictures our topic of that week was focused on Halloween. It was a great week to begin. We didn't really get a taste of what it means to teach at this school until we finished the second week. The 2nd week was busy and took a lot of effort. I still am unsure of how much English some of my classes can understand. Our ...

After Chiang Mai, the plan was to head down to Bangkok, stopping off at a couple of places along the way. We did a bit of research in the book and somewhere that sounded very nice and quiet was a town called 'Phrae', south-west of Chiang Mai on a parallel road to the main highway that leads down to Bangkok. We were amazed to meet them and here them talk to us in perfect English with Australian accents. Sharon (Rob ...

... stand up and move with a walk, she could also speak clearly. Day 10 saw her trash the walker in exchange for a cane and we had the blessed opportunity to watch her walk across the street. Day 12 saw her trash the cane for a stick to walk with and above else she admitted to us she has begun to pray to Him. It took a mere 12 days to do something no doctor could do, no witch doctor, no anybody could do. Pray for her soul and salvation, we want to welcome her to the family with ...

... only 50 baht an hour!)

The best thing in Phrae (apart from the locals) was the food, and we spent some happy hours scouring the little night market stalls for our evening meal. For 30 or 35 baht (about 60 or 70p) we ate plates or fried noodles with red pork, or big bowls of noodle soup with wontons; followed by some fried Japanese octopus balls, little chunks of octopus tentacle in a batter, liberally drenched in mayonaise and Japanese sweet ...
