    ... when the fireworks started, and about 1:00am when the loud boom of the party finally ceased. The thunderous bass of the music could be felt through my floor and made for a little bit of a restless evening. I was so tired that I managed to fall asleep. My hosts said this morning that that kind of noise isn't common in the neighborhood. Occasionally neighbors have parties, and there have been a few weddings recently.

    They apologetically gave me ear plugs just in case...

    ... I do not like Chilangos either.... Some people may think that my not being able to get any Milkway or Snickers chocolate bars is not a big deal - well it is a big deal for me, I have to have my Milkway and Snicker chocoate bars..     ... a very high value on accomplishment...
    Mexicans do not put the same high value on accomplishment
    as Canadians and Americans do.
    Mexicans put a higher value on personal relationships....

    It is sunny and warm in Mexico - temperature in the mid 20's..
    Sandals, shorts and short sleeve weather...
    I like Mexico...
    I love Mexico...

    For me, being in Mexico, San Miguel de Allende,

    ... in town, newly built for a Swedish couple, all white and modern, on a very skinny lot so lots of stairs up to the 4 levels of living space. Today we saw another big country house whose American owner raises horses and rides with the Mexican charros in parades, on horseback in full Mexican-style cowboy regalia; he keeps his saddle in the grand living room. Next door is his full-scale Alamo. (Yes, originally from Houston.)
