... farmland nearby. We had a cookout on one along the river Lerma one day, and yesterday we climbed a plot on a hillside where we had a panoramic view of the town and surrounding countryside. There were more grasshoppers of many different sizes, shapes and colors than we had ever imagined, and we collected afew handfuls for Senora Lopez's birds and chickens. Today we leave for the city of Guanajuato, but it is not far so we will take our time qnd do some exploring on the ...

... my question of "How are you?" with an "Agh." So sad. R.I.P. Sol.

After a couple hours of chatting, I headed down to the university to meet up with everyone. Well, as an overview, this week wasn't as relaxing as the first, but it wasn't horrible either. I worked constantly, no time for breaks, but I didn't have to stay up particularly late. Monday for lunch the director of the program, Anne, and her daughter, Amaru, came over for lunch. It was the first time I ate in the formal dining room. Anne's going around, eating lunch with the families and taking photos to use to advertise the ...

... it all, I met a lovely couple who came from San Diego (I think, bad memory) and they had served in Guanajuato for a few years in the past and now they had just returned to what they considered as "their home". There are 8 Spanish, 1 English, 1 Nahuatl, 1 Sign Language congregations, and I am sure many good friends to meet next time I come.
If you are planning a trip to Mexico, this is a spot you should not miss!
