... internet “stick” which connects via cellular broadband. We use this stick when WiFi is not available. It is expensive to use though (we go to the local OXXO convenience store to buy more gigabites) so we use it only when we have to and never to upload pictures for our blogs. When we have no electricity and have no internet, we have learned to pull out our old fashioned books. Most of us enjoy that anyway!

We have been staying with Mario's parents and brother, Geraldo since Saturday in Salvatierra. Mario's mother has been cooking some wonderful food for us every day. Fresh salsas with beans and chorizo or free range beef that is so lean it looks like veal, Mexican hot chocolate, atolè and many other great dishes. This is big agricultural land around here, with lots of corn, sorghum, fresh garbanzos, peanuts, guavas and more. The Lopez family still has several small plots ...

... was only 6pesos (50cents) as opposed to 55pesos ($5). We got on the bus after deciding the bus driver indicated that he was stopping at Emabajadores. We had no idea what this meant or where it was but it was the directions of the hostel so we took it. The bus was old and rickety, but pleasant.
