... with a good sense of humour 'very cheap, almost free!'.
We then drove on to Tula and a hotel in the middle of a golf course so we could be up early next day to visit the Tula archaeological site which we had almost to ourselves - huge standing figures that once held up a roof on top of the pyramid, a ball park - they were big into ball games but a wrong move could cost you your head.
We got to Queretaro shortly before sunset, able to enjoy ...

We have been staying with Mario's parents and brother, Geraldo since Saturday in Salvatierra. Mario's mother has been cooking some wonderful food for us every day. Fresh salsas with beans and chorizo or free range beef that is so lean it looks like veal, Mexican hot chocolate, atolè and many other great dishes. This is big agricultural land around here, with lots of corn, sorghum, fresh garbanzos, peanuts, guavas and more. The Lopez family still has several small plots ...

... my question of "How are you?" with an "Agh." So sad. R.I.P. Sol.

After a couple hours of chatting, I headed down to the university to meet up with everyone. ... was the size of a hotel room. Let me tell you, it was the most colorful hotel I'd ever seen--the hallways were bright pink and the doors were a dark, but bright, blue. The class started out small--myself, Chava, a women, and her young daughter. But, slowly but surely more people arrived and it was a fun class.

After class, my sweaty self met back up with Amy, Kelsy, and Katie, who were out celebrating the weekend. On my ...

... it all, I met a lovely couple who came from San Diego (I think, bad memory) and they had served in Guanajuato for a few years in the past and now they had just returned to what they considered as "their home". There are 8 Spanish, 1 English, 1 Nahuatl, 1 Sign Language congregations, and I am sure many good friends to meet next time I come.
If you are planning a trip to Mexico, this is a spot you should not miss!
