There aren't so many flights out of Uluru, so we ended up with half a day to kill before we got to leave. I did laundry- woo hoo. I did get a chance to read and relax while it was running though, so it was nice to have some more continue. We arrived at the Cairns airport, which was another airport where they pull stairs up to the plane instead of having gates. As we walked off the plane, the sauna hit us smack dab in the face (and everywhere else). It was hot, muggy, and just generally gr...
Palm Cove, Queensland, Australia spsadventures
... Went on a little bus with a group of about 10 on various bush walks up and down the mountains to some amazing views. The photos are on facebook for u guys to see, or will be very soon, promise. Also saw wild kangaroos which was fab. Me and katie made the fatal mistake of thinking the weather would resemble sydneys 22 degree sunshine...off we went in our shorts and tshirts, to be greeted with an average temp of 3 degrees....and winds of upto 100km/hour which ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia nikkiyates... Shame about the weather - it would have looked stunning in the sun. But rain, cloud and a now fierce wind proved challenging...And yet people were milling around everywhere ... The rough seas still had body-boarders and the likes in it. The waves though too choppy for true surfers .. The surf rescue however were kept busy. Even as I stood looking on as I waited for Jill to ...
Mossman, Queensland, Australia dinziez... yes they are still a big hit. We then all headed down the beach for a walk and fish and play. The full moon looked amazing as it came up over the jetty and over the water. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera - might have to try and capture the moment tomorrow. It's so nice being right on the water and hearing the waves crashing on the beach. Jeremy's gone for another fish on the jetty - not really expecting to catch anything but just to unwind and enjoy the moment.<br>
Palm Cove, Queensland, Australia drownsroundaus... the scorpions lived in a plant pot and just before we left they found a giant scorpion in the bar! They gave us a tour around their bar, told us about the history of the area and their family history. It was far from a minimalist bar, with things covering most surfaces and the walls covered in signed money. Visitors can leave money with their name on to be pinned on the wall, so if you ever go back there again (its pretty unlikely you will) and your short on money you can take ...

Cairns, Queensland, Australia samcohen1987... in single file down a steep incline into a stream and forward as they climbed up. what happened to the flatlands. i asked the guides not to keep pinting out snake marks in the ground and huge spiders spanning two trees 300 yards apart. this wasn't necessary and hadn't been included in their publicity. i must admit though, as time went on and my thighs started to relax into a rhythem i could see the attrsaction of horseriding for single females and positivly chortled when we ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia lincolnlady... accommodation, the Rainforest B&B, in Cairns but right on the edge of the rainforest, great place complete with our own waterfall and pools for swimming. Supper at one of the many eating places in the Night Markets. The next day we drove to Cape Tribulation, north of Cairns to explore the rainforest, more stunning scenery. There's lot of rainforest here! Our return trip took us to Mossman Gorge where we swum ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia geoffbid... forward to a good shower and a good nights sleep. Even though we'd had bad weather, it seems that we were quite fortunate to be out on a boat because Airlie Beach had been devastated by floods as had some other areas in Queensland, this is continuing to be a headline in the news but we seem to have been lucky enough to miss quite a lot of this weather. (Other headlines continue to be fires in Western Oz but the Northern Territories cyclone has passed and cricket had ...
Palm Cove, Australia nicnmick24-04-05 Lazy day on the beach! Yep that was it. 25-04-05 Today was probably the best day of the holiday so far. We went diving on the Great Barrier Reef today, and it was AWESOME! We got picked up by coach to transfer us to the multi-hulled boat. It took us to Port Douglas which is about 30 minutes north of Palm Cove. The boat is huge, probably could seat around 550 people, but I think there must have only been just over 250 on it. It was pretty rough going out ...
