    Expensive accomodation

The log cabins were warm with gas fire and full catering facilities including micro-wave and fridge. However I think there are a lot of cheaper and better located cabins in the area. Even the Chateau had cheaper drop in rates for a room and these were alongside the lake and the hotel 5 star. Not good value to me as we had 3 nights in Bellagio in Vegas for $100 per night cheaper.

Moraine lake was the most beautiful sight of a day of many beautiful sights! We arrived in early afternoon just after visiting Lake Louise. Miichael had me close my eyes and led me to the water. Wow! Lake Louise was beautifully but I guess I feel more moved by the rugged untouched landscapes. We drove a bit further to lake moraine even though the …

Day started cold and miserable looking with lots of fog drifting through the grounds and between the cabins. Stuffed around a bit in the hope it would clear up and it did! Beautiful sunny day by the time we rocked up at Lake Louise around 11am. Booked our big canoe tour for tomorrow morning (Julia happy) then set off along the lake. Today's …

... space on the road leading into the car park, already filled and overflowing. Moraine Lake is tightly surrounded by vertical cliffs or soaring rocky peaks on every side, and the heaped rocky moraines that give it its name seem to pour down towards the water, and are then perfectly reflected on its mirror still surface. I can't even come close to capturing its beauty in words, but thankfully I don't need to, you can see for yourself in the photographs. We walked around one edge, ...

Jasper - Lake Louise Our last night in Jasper, we have walked the lake and parts of the golf course. Heaps of Columbian squirrels on the walk at Jasper. Nightcap drinks in the Cavelle Bar, fireplace so cosy inside. Interesting how welcome pets are. We were sitting at a table and wondering why we were not getting table service, the photo attached says it all! Leaving Jasper and heading south. A crisp 10 deg, a cloudy day but still pleasant.Over the Athabaskan River which ...
