    ... exciting thing we saw was a protest of Bulgarians with Russian flags protesting against the U.S. About 10 people...no crowd. Just a TV camera.     ... the center of town and contains hundreds of tombs filled with a variety of relics dating from the time of the first settlers. Long before the arrival of the Roman's there was substantial wealth here ever apparent by the findings.

    The collection is housed in the Museum of Archeology here with a few pieces on show in Sofia. While I did check out the museum in Sofia there were very few items on display hence the half day trip here ...

    ... the ancient history of a region. Apparently, there are 100,000 artefacts, and you could easily spend a day there. The 5000 year old gold jewellery and the recreation of tombs from the necropolis were stunning. Again in a place where there only seemed to be about 3 other people (including a man with very squeaky sandals that kept making me laugh).
