Hello from Bangkok.
First, to answer some questions; Yes Lindsay(the senior), we did see the light show from Kowloon. Probably could have been closer to get the best effect, but seeing the city lit up at night was still memorable. Ron, not sure if we will see the elephants. Should know in a couple of days.

Day 116 - Friday 3rd Jan 2014

We arrived in Bangkok at around 6:30am and were ready to get off the dreadful bus. When we got off we bypassed all the taxi men offering a lift and went straight to the cue for the meter taxi. This was recommended in the Lonely Planet guide and useful to know because it meant we didn't get ripped off by any of the other alleged taxi drivers.
