... head quarters of the company because it was very nice. Sure enough it turned out to be our house. It was amazing! It had five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a huge living room, a good size kitchen with all amenities, a patio consisting; furniture, a large table, a grill, and a view that put Hawaii to shame.

That night we first had a celebratory party at our house and then headed out to the bars. ... me to pass along his greeting to church brethren in other areas, and thanked us very much for the visit. It was 2:00 pm by the time we left France's house, and stomachs were rumbling. We were going to go our separate ways for lunch, but I told Jocelyn I would come by his house around 4:00 so we'd have the chance to discuss a number of church related issues. We dropped Jocelyn at a bus stop where he could catch public transportation home. Few ...

The 6th week!

... tremor, but they hadn't come to a particular diagnosis as of yet. After a bit more grilling the round was over. I headed to the library for a bit of internet time when i got a call from stev to say he was taking us out for lunch. After a little bit of waiting for the boys to finish off steve took us down to Port Louis for some lunch. It consisted of a plate with a few small bowls of curried concoctions and a ...

We love Port Louis!

... bit of bread fried in curry sauce type thing - all sorts of finger food and i also got a fratata which was the best id tasted. This perked me up instantly and it was off to buy lots of fruit, veg, fish and cheap DVD's! We got passion fruit, pineapple, oranges, apples, sugar bananas (banana's but with a smoother texture and slightly sweeter) corn on the cob, pak choi, leeks, onions etc etc and all at stupid prices like 10p for 3 ...

Mauritius is for the fishes!

... take the heavy items home. I did buy a painting and although I am happy with it I am sure I over paid in the worst way. UPDATE: When I got the painting home it cracked. I took it to a gallery who repaired and framed it, it's beautiful. I asked how much it was worth and she guessed between $440 and $800 which was shocking and exciting since I paid $260! Even though this was my negative experience many people had a good time, most of which went to the beach or ...

... escape. We reserved a junior suite at a hotel a little distance away (5 star and recommended by Rach's friend at C&W) and had our hotel cab us to the new destination, at no extra cost (again a loing story and a few tears later). The new hotel is nice enough and has a range of complimentary water sports but also importanly has restaurants where you are served from a menu by waiters, not the scramble for curry we experienced at Les Pavillions. Anyway it was nice to be out ...

... is kind of like Puerta Vallarta for Europe and Africa. So there are tons of resorts there. We spent the day playing on the beaches and then went out to a disco that night. It was called the Buddha disco, probably because they have a giant Buddha in the middle of the dance floor. Our last day there a few of us went and saw all of the churches, temples, and Chinese pagodas in Port Louis. Mauritius was ruled by so many different countries and had so much influence from ...

Back in the homeland!

... home), I immediately noticed how the road have improved. There is now a highway that traverses the entire island. I was also surprised by the amount of traffic. The other thing that hit me was that I did not recognize anything at all! Once I arrived in my home town, I was totally baffled by the urban intensification, there are houses built one on top of another and when there isn't enough space, they build upwards! My quiet street, which once had quaint homes with large ...

The most gorgeous island ever!

... of white sand. Many of the people who we met said we were the first Americans they had ever met. The island is not a destination that many Americans visit. The night of the first day we threw a party at our hotel because it was Sunday and all the bars and restraunt were closed since the people are very religious. The second day we went on a Catamaran ride to an island off the coast of Mauritius. On the boat ride out there it was very stormy and we almost turned around d ...
