We picked mum up and headed out of the rain towards Arnhem. The Openluchtmuseum is a collection of old buildings from all over the Netherlands. They show life at different times from 300 years ago to the present and they range from the wealthy farmer to the peasant's turf hut. ... The next weekend I went to Den Hague, Holland. I had a generous offer to stay at the sister's of a friend of mine from UW-Stout. The sister, her husband and their two young boys live in an apartment overlooking the North Sea. It was absolutely beautiful! ... buildings. The exterior had the most peculiar materials. The architect used drainage grates as an exterior material and used them in different orientations to create a pattern. This building used all facades and took advantage of all opportunities and made this a great building to experience. After seeing more of the university, we decided it was time to leave for Amsterdam. We were back on the road again.
