    ... we had too bend double yo get into them. They were very similar to the burial cave that we have visited in both Greece and Turkey, with tombs cut into the rock. Some had large arches carved into the walls with shelves below them, and some had niches where votive would have been placed. Once we had payed and discussed what good year it is for olive oil, we drove into Ieropetra, the economic centre of the green house industry. We shopped and then looked for a top up shop, by the time we got to it it had closed for the afternoon, it amazes us that businesses make any money here, they always seem to be closed!

    ... and not very welcoming. We found a small cove to park for the night, there is definitely a storm brewing, the wind us getting stronger and there are occasional showers. The cove is very nice, there is a long beach in a tight curve with steep mountain sides at each end, the centre area is all olive trees leading up a gentle incline to the village which us about 5 kilometres away.     ... distance we can see some old stone buildings and in places the hillsides are terraced. Our path took us across to another bay before starting to climb up through the terraces. There aren't any way markers informing you how far to the next point if interest of even how long the path is, do after a couple of hours we decided we should turn back.     ... a handsome fishing harbour. There is also a causeway leading to Kolokytha Peninsular. There are also fine views of Spinalonga Island which was used as a leper colony from 1903 to 1957. We found a camping spot at the end of the village close to the causeway, we went for a walk onto the Peninsular passing some windmills in various states of disrepair.
