    Day 1: I get moving early and go across to the little cafe in the square for the BnB provided breakfast of tea or coffee and a croissant. They have free wifi which works. Yes! The BnB wifi is useless! After breakfast I head off to the boat pier and get a day ticket for the Middle lakes area. 15 euro and can be used to get to Villa Carlotta, Bellagio, Menaggio and back to Varenna.     I'm on the move again today. Metro to Termini train station and fast train to Milan at 11am. Takes 3 hours. Speeds of around 248 kms an hour. My ears keep popping when we go through the tunnels. The terrain is very similar to down south. Rolling hills etc., with flat plains in between. I can't see so many olive trees though and there's a lot more grape vines.     ... tomb of St Cresencio who was a martyr to the Catholic Church and was killed on 14 September 300AD and has his skeletal remains are on view.

    We had a lovely afternoon walking around Lenno and exploring the other towns along the lakes shoreline, it is just a shame that weather was not clearer so we could appreciate the Alps separating Italy and Switzerland more clearly.

    Tomorrow we leave Italy and make our way through Switzerland to our next home in France.
