HOWDO! I'm in Thailand! You were'nt expecting that were you? Well that's ok ... cos neither was I! In fact I was farily adamant that I was going nowhere this year cos I really want to, (and for that matter still intend to try to), go to South America NEXT year, so this year was very much going to be devoted to saving money. However ... best laid plans and all! I'm out exploring with my good mate Mike, (makes a change for there to be someone else out here with me as well). Lots of stuff I can'...
Bangkok, Thailand ant_steerNow I know what that expression means. I thought it was just a figure of speech. I didn't realise that you could actually drop from shopping-based exhaustion. We woke up around 8 and Jess being the good mother that she is took the girls for a swim while I lazed around. We had breakfast at 9 because our concierge had made an appointment at 10 for us with a tailor he recommended. The buffet breakfast here at Pantip Court is good, including all of the things you would expect. It's not spectacula...
Bangkok, Thailand guykbFinally after having waited for I suppose last 6 month ( since the tickets for this trip were bought end of May already) we arrived to Bangkok (me and my friend Irina)...not to mention the tiredness and for me also jetlag, everything else has gone great so far...I believe at this point given the fact that we are exhausted, slept in, havent seen that much yet...we both agree that the best part is still the view to the city from our room window...24th floor in business disctrict and it is just ...

... bites, as well as my back. I started to suspect they were now in my clothes. I gained so many new bites that I started to think 'maybe its a rash', and still I never found a single f*cking thing anywhere. Having forgotten to draw extra baht out (and not telling my banks that I would be in Malaysia for a couple of days before Australia) I was very low on cash (about 30 quid), and decided to practice budgeting a little. So shop noodles, biscuits and basic drinks then ...

If we are actually committed to solving these problems we need to stop treating the symptoms and start studying the underlying causes in an honest, open debate. We must be engaged in a dialogue with the other party not perpetuating a blood feud. It may be weak to give in to terrorist demands but there ...
... had a “petrol-free” day about twice a year for approved drivers who took tourists around to certain locations we decided what was there to loose. We did manage to get to 3 great Wat’s before being taken to the “Tourist Travel Centre” where one of the staff tried to plan out the rest of our trip for us and charge an exorbitant amount, but we managed to squeak out of there without committing to anything. Our driver seemed a bit sheepish ...
Bangkok, Thailand shinetravels... of you have a place to stay when you come visit us. Right!?!?
One of the coolest things about our condo is that it is located in a great spot just Northeast of the heart of Bangkok. We have tons of restaurants (including an amazing and cheap dim sum restaurant), shopping centers, clubs, pubs, art stores, etc., within walking distance from our place. But the best part is that there is a really big open air street market right down the road in front of our complex. This ...

My six months are up and it's finally time to - grudgingly - leave Thailand. It is strange how fast it all went.
Thailand is a fantastic country, with beautiful people and great personalities. I was first struck by the messiness of everything there, which I didn't like. But now I realize that it grew on me. I like the look of the overgrown trees and the random trash bins on the side of the road, the dilapidated stores and food stalls that you can ...
