The place was excellent on all counts

This place is close to Lumpini Underground and many local restaurants and shops. The rooms are huge, the views from the balcony to die for, the breakfasts very diverse and plentiful, the price very reasonable (we paid $US50) and the staff go that extra mile.
If I had to make a criticism, it would be that it probably needs a coat of paint here and there.

We then boarded the park bus to go over to the other hotel on site, the Hollywood Hotel …

Weather looks good for today. At breakfast we met some of our fellow travelers who were joining us for the main trip. At 9:00 we had a 50 minute meeting to meet our guide, trip overview, etc., but no time for lengthy introductions, other than our name.

Then to the bus for our tour of the Grand Palace to see the Emerald Buddha temple. This …

To act as an antidote to all that culture we went for a stroll up to Khoa San Road – the backpackers district where we were bombarded with people attempting to sell things to us! We gradually made a slow way back to the palace where we attempted to get a taxi back to the hotel – the first attempt went poorly purely on the basis that in ...
