... Just swimming, snorkelling and lying in the sun. Really not wanting to leave the Perhentians now even if we are having a couple of days more than originally planned. We did book a snorkelling trip for our last day tomorrow. Everyone seems to see sharks and turtles during these so it should be a good day out. 4th May - We head off on our snorkelling trip at 10am. After a short journey we reach coral garden. As the name suggest it is where there is a large amount and ...

Sorry for the long time since the last blog... A combination of zero wifi on the islands and busy travelling has meant I haven't had time to get round to it. ... we were faced by the news that the last ferry was potentially going in thirty minutes. Why potentially? Well the boats are small and the waves are big is my technical reason for why. Jesus Christ. He was not the driver but I did think we might meet him for a few fleeting moments. I am not sure of the force of the wind or size of the waves but I am very surprised the captain went for it. All I can say is his boat was well made to withstand the battering it took. Less can be said for ...

A lazy day and a night in

... up for lunch at the Bubu restaurant (where else?!) and stuffed ourselves silly. I immediately felt much worse with the dreaded cold and so spent the next hour and a bit sleeping under my sarong on the sun lounger. Not feeling much better it was soon time to get showered and ready to leave the island. The boats to the mainland ship in and sit just offshore and you have to pay a local water taxi RM2 (£0.40) per person for a lift to the boat. ...
