We were glad to see the back of Kuala Lumpur. We enjoyed Bukit Bintang but the rest of the places we visited weren't what we expected and there wasn't much to do during our stay. We decided to head to the Perhentian islands which are just off of the east coast of Malaysia. The islands are very remote. To get there from KL we had to get a 8 hour coach and a 1 hour boat journey. The islands do not have any ATMs or public transport and wifi is scarce. We took a boat over to ...

Spent two nights on Kapas then decided i'd head up to Kota Bharu before heading back to Kuala Lumpur. Caught the 10am boat back to Marang but annoyingly then had to wait until 12:15pm for a local bus back to Terengannu {RM2.50}. Pretty good fun if you try and imagine that you probably aren't going to get flipped out at 50 miles an hour and relax.
We could see the island as we approached it ...

... how incredibly awesome this place was. I thought we'd already done some really amazing snorkelling - but this was a whole new level of amazing snorkelling! It felt like being transported directly into Finding Nemo! There were fish absolutely everywhere, thousands of them in glittering shoals surrounding us completely. And the corrals were so colourful and bright.

It was me who actually found nemo this time. There was a whole load of nemos ...

... on a jetty pier placed closely to the shore but not connected, maintaining balance being key. Again Jin triumphs and he, myself and the new carry on make it to shore. Check in and shown to our room, a hut on the beach over looking the water. We settle in and wander. Stop for lunch in our new accommodation - more staff than there are guests. Hit the beach and chill and play ball in the water. Relax in ...
