... came to a small guard post with a sentry making a dubious evaluation of my vehicle. The fee paid and his worries ignored, I continued on my way up the increasingly worsening path and into the blanketing cloud. An hour and a half of ascent saw me enter some spectacular scenery; the rub was that I could only see the good stuff within twenty metres of the car. The dense cloud was unrelenting and only got thicker as I approached the summit.
