... to getting us to Slovenia where on Friday I can then go and get the stiches out. So we have a bus ride in the morning bought the lady from the appartments some chocolates and left her a note to say thanks as she has been amazing with us letting us stay for nothing. We did not really do much today went back to the room after we had found a laundry for our clothes and then I cooked both me and Beebs a lovely chicken sunday dinner with potaoes and carrots and even found some stuff so that I could make Gravy sorry not much to say but we where so tired and just wanted to chill out.

After an afternoon at the beach, we returned to the yacht and sailed into the Harbor at Rovinj. We moored stern to at the mouth of the northern marina and took the short walk around the harbor to the old town out on an oval peninsula with a church on top. We found a place to eat dinner and then returned to the yacht for the night.

Rovinj is set on a small peninsula on the Istrian coast of Croatia, which is famous for its fine wines and truffles. Photos of Rovinj have appeared in advertisements and international travel publications, and it's one of Croatia's most scenic small coastal towns.

Italian is not a common 2nd language in the countries we've visited, but Koper Slovenia had clearly been conquered by the Italians and left with evidence of their rule. The city was settled in Roman times, then influenced by the Byzantine Empire around 600-800 AD, and ruled by Venice from 1300-1800.

It's dark by now, so we push on and drive through Slovenia, which is only a few kilometres away and is only about 30kms wide here, then drive down through the Istrian peninsula of Croatia to the beautiful little town of Rovinj (pronounced Rovin), where we find a great B&B late at night. ... a town that is a 45 minute ride away from Rovinj. The main thing to see there was a Basilica with some of the best gold mosaics in Europe. It was dazzling. The museum wasn't open but thank goodness I came on a Sunday because the church is opened and the lights go on for mass.
