... made it to the Peter und Paul's, I was amazed at the lovely cabins made for the animals - SO beautifully made - they really look after their animals here! I guess if they don't, they won't be there by the end of winter! I saw a few animals I've not seen before - Alpensteinbock have interesting horns - really thick and chunky, and other varieties of deer. They give the animals lots of space, so they are not stressed at all - it's a reserve that's been put aside for ...

This morning Monika and I set out for Appenzell, Switzerland.  We made our way along (very) windy roads to the base of the mountain named Saentis.  A gondola went to the top, but we were content with enjoying time by the cafe at the old wooden cafe-hotel after hiking through a lovely pine woods.  Dogs were everywhere on the patio and the sunshine was strong and warm.  At 1,352 meters ...

... but our poor German and the ferry master's poor English caused us to decide we'd wait for the 1:55pm ferry which our guide book had recommended. A lovely lunch ensued with ample opportunity for photo taking, story writing and editing. The 2015 adventure is supported by two new cameras. I'd broken mine and Lisa hadn't been happy with the quality of hers - not sharp enough for this keen photographer. Lisa can't stop singing the praises of her new Cannon GX7. A pocket camera ...
