Packing up yesterday paid dividends this morning as we were quick to check out and get on the road. We ate in the town last night and had one final sauna / swim before bed & an early start today. The drive today is one of the nicest we've had. It's a long way, 4 hours, but mostly through towns and resorts so lots to look at - stunning scenery; more wooden houses bursting with flowers, over flowing as if in competition (maybe they are?) and big mountains, really ...

The walkers told us that we could go right, which was a shorter way to the other open chairlift, or left which was the longer way. We opted for left, and came upon the third hut - also closed. I said in jest, and he said "Nein!" which I found strangely amusing. I made it to the top and back in 35 minutes. Not bad when it was meant to take an hour and ten return. I met up with Jess at the restaurant who had just finished lunch, I had an Apple Strudle with Ice Cream (OK maybe I'm not getting slimmer at Krimmler) and a cup of tea, ...

... blackboard claimed that it was one of the few family owned restaurants in Venice. They even advertised that they served extremely thin crust pizza, and Jess was still on the hunt for perfect pizza. This place went from looking good to looking amazing. Since we learned the day before that most restaurants are open only for lunch, I went in to ask if they were open for dinner, the owner misunderstood and made me a booking for 7pm, but that was fine. We proceeded on through the sea ...

    Just beautiful

Some of the most breathtaking scenery we have seen ever !!!! We drove along the valley floor looking at what we thought we're some special views, until we started climbing up to Grossglockner and were amazed at the scenery. We reached a height of 2500m, with snow capped mountains surrounding us. Wearing shorts and thongs on a beautiful clear and sunny day in the snowy peaks seemed so decadent.Obviously most of ...
