      A lot of driving today sadly leaving the beautiful mountains, heading to Graz.       ... The hallway floors are winding and never level. The buildings are curvy and built into the hillside. The interior is largely tiled with vivid colours and odd shaped tile. Initially it is quite overwhelming but as we have gotten used to it, it is quite attractive.

      Hartberg is a very cute little town and our hotel is beautiful! Situated next to the castle, the Alter Gerischtof is sophisticatedly decorated and very well presented. My room is rather large! With big bay windows that open out onto a balcony. The bed is SO comfortable I literally feel like I'm sleeping in a marshmallow. Breakfast is alright... No toast though. And you have to pay for eggs! So I guess it's another week of eating muesli!! On ...

      We left the Hungary, crossed the boarder and appeared to Austria's easternmost and least populous land - Burgenland. We staied in farm Arkadenhof Pension - very beautiful country side place, clean and green, with many facilities, very nice owners Flasch family.

      ... How amazing. This arena became the home of the The Spanish Riding School with the Lipizzaner Horses in 1729. Anyway...the Palace was never looted and only one bomb fell on the actual building during WW2....and it was a dud...but it did destroy one ceiling in the building. This is the only thing that is not authentic in the Palace. 269 bombs fell on the gardens during WW2. There are over 170,000 pieces of the official dinner set still in the Place. The rooms were ...
