This is the day we travel to Cappadocia, leaving at 7:15pm from the low cost airport, 50km outside of town. The books all say to leave at least 3-4 hours before your flight to allow enough time to get there as traffic is notoriously bad. So, leaving at 3:30pm seemed like enough time. Another good night sleep had everyone up around 9:30am after a late night session of the super giggles. Evie couldn't stop laughing at 11pm and frazzled Sue so much that she put in ...

Today I woke up at 7:00 am, changed and then watched the birds outside until the rest of my family woke up at 8:00 am. Then my brother and my mom showered while my dad and I looked at the maps and books about Istanbul. Soon after, we all headed downstairs for breakfast. It was a buffet type breakfast and we all tried at least one of everything. There was so much delicious food, ...

Jet lag is a silent killer. At bed time the kids literally go nuts. Laughing uncontrollably, squealing, and generally being lunatics. In the morning, it's the same thing. Sleep issues aside, this was our "big" sightseeing day. We have enjoyed the quantity of selfie sticks in Istanbul so we decide that ...

Still on the ship, in Istanbul port. After breakfast we headed ashore, bought a Istanbul Pass which cost 7 lira, then put 20 lira on it as all four of us can use the one card. We caught the tram to the Grand Bazaar. (2.15 lira each). The bazaar is huge, around 4,000 shops, however a lot the same. Rugs, leather jackets, bags, ceramics, scarfs and Turkish delights and baklava. How on earth they all make a living I ...

On route today back to Istanbul, all day at sea. We had a very relaxing day, which we all needed, as with days in port for the past 7 days it has been all go. We arrive in Istanbul tomorrow morning, however, don't disembark until Friday morning, so time for more sightseeing around Istanbul ...
