We all just finished watching a spectacular sunset over the Mediterranean Sea. We had a perfect view from our cliff side hotel and along the coast. We had a jam packed day today. We got up early and drove to Pompei. There we had our favorite tour guide named Roberto. He was interesting to listen to and was quite a comedian. He is actually Sicilian and made a few jokes about his heritage. Then we all had a whole pizza each for lunch. It was delicious and filling. Dont worry, we also walked qui...

OK, so we're living on an Olive Farm for a while now.
Bohemian? Yes
Practical? Only when its sunny and only when its not olive picking season.
So what season is it now? Olive picking and its raining.

Welcome to our own little corner of Glastonbury
Battipaglia, Campania, Italy therv... just got that. Does it?) Anyway, that's my favorite kind of mozzarella. And it said it had pomodorini -- little tomatoes. I was psyched. This was for sure going to be the best pizza yet. But then it arived. And it didn't have any sauce. I was so bummed. I kept swearing. Out loud. The waiter told me a side of pizza sauce would be cold so I just sucked it up.

Until.

I took a moment.

I said to myself, "Josie, a margherita pizza is 3 euro. You love pizza. Naples, Campania, Italy josiezim... the town decimated but preserved from Mt. Vesuvius erupting in the first century. Throughout the week, we had the pleasure of being wined and dined by Sophie’s parents and we had some amazing food, the seafood was stellar.

Positano Pictures
http://picasaweb.google.com /Jonny.D.Lawrence/20091030Positano?auth key ...
Positano, Campania, Italy sofenjon... umbrella and raincoat got soaked through to our underwear! Next day it rained hard too but did not mind a lazy day with no sightseeing. The city of Naples has a few nice areas but is a really dirty city and one day of sightseeing was plenty. Seeing Naples and Mt. Vesuvius from a distance is the best way to see them but south of Naples and the Almafi coast is not to be missed.
Naples, Campania, Italy pathenger... taking one of those CitySightseeing Buses. The same kind we took in Barcelona where passengers were able to hop on and hop off at any stop.

We were warned about the traffic in Naples and that caution was needed when crossing any street. Although we thought the traffic hectic, cars had no choice but to yield when groups of people were crossing the street. So, we waited for the locals ...
Naples, Campania, Italy ricknelsie... so surreal to be sitting there in the ocean and enjoying the breathtaking view. Again, like in Nice, we were so buoyant in this water! You barely had to tread water at all to stay afloat.

We swam back into the cove to join the group and some people had decided to do some rock jumping, Witek of course joined them but I am a scaredy cat! I did get to borrow Dee’s snorkel though and check out some of the fascinating sea life underneath. There were hundreds of fish we were ...
Sorrento, Campania, Italy kimmykak... tiled floors, theatres, arenas, canteens, and even a brothel, before catching the train back to Sant Agnello. We head to our friend's restaurant again tonight for dinner and we order a rocket salad, and mum and I share a pizza of cherry tomato, buffalo mozarella and shavings of fresh parmesan. Head back to the hotel where we watch the sunset on our terrace over the Bay of Naples, a fantastic end to our time on the Amalfi Coast.
Sorrento, Italy trishigirl... after checking our tickets so they knew we had right of way). This left us with a woman and a man to share our journey. They were fantastic and we had lots of fun communicating with them. The woman, Mariolino, offered to help us find our way in Naples and shouted us coffee and cake!! How priveleged are we? She also asked us to phone her when we come back to Rome as she would like to show us around and here about our travels. Thankfully she showed us where to catch the train ...
Sorrento, Campania, Italy eurogrovers... boat made good headway but at the risk of everyone getting a soaking from time to time. They floated in and out and around the various grottoes or caves on the southern side of Capri. Nothing spectacular, reported Anne, as they were steered between the rocky islands and their cavernous arches and viewed the headlands where the Emperor Tiberious is said to have thrown off his slaves and his women to their death when he had finished with them. The modern day princes and ...
