... a number of ski lifts. After seeing nobody walking up the mountain, I was surprised to see lots of people at the top. Then I spotted parked cars. I had a bit of a rant about the people we passed along the lines of "I bet they haven’t just climbed up 1200 metres to get to the top!" I felt very aggrieved. It started raining as we got to the top so we headed slightly downhill to shelter under a ski lift but when we got there, the local flock of sheep had clearly had ...

The weather is a bit thundery and rainy today so we didn't rush out. When it looked like it might brighten up we had a walk around the lake. It is only 9 km’s in total. We pondered on how much a house on the lakeside might cost and then moved on to where you have a house

All too soon we were back in the parking lot and my dream was ...

Today's tour was to Bolzano, close to the Austrian border. We arrived there late in the morning, stopping for a quick espresso at a truck stop - it's hard to get used to doing things the Italian Way when you have to pay for what you want first, then go and join the queue to get served! So simply getting a coffee takes quite a while, especially when the Italians are prone to barging in front of anyone!
Bolzano is nestled in ...

... male receptionist, whom owns the family hotel built by a forefather 160 years ago looks us up and down and down and up and says "maybe". Then spends 5 minutes looking at a key rack on the wall with about 70 keys just hanging there. Finally he says he has a beautiful lake view room for 75 euros per person including breakfast and dinner. Fine where do we sign. His look is - what is my hotel coming to??
