... on the way and slowing heading into towns we must have been doing 200+ kmph.
We arrived in Rome about 1940hrs and caught a cab to our Hotel which was about 1.5km away. A bit of trouble fitting the bike bag in the taxi but nothing a few occy straps couldn't fix! The Hotel seems nice, simple but neat and tidy.
Tomorrow we will hit the streets and look at some of the attractions. Being in the city centre, most of the main sites are within 30min walk.
... the evening with some other Sutho people, one of whom won both the Road Race and TT in her division (65+). Had dinner at Forst which is a German themed restaurant, I had the Stinko which was a big pork knuckle, pork sausage, sauerkraut and potatoes while Rach shared a massive veal schnitzel. Finished off with gelato.
Tomorrow off to Rome on the Frecciaargento which is the silver high speed train (the second fastest after the frecciarossa).
... to the Swans get done :(. Early on this morning streamed the Sthn Power boys having an easy win in their GF.
The plan was to visit the Caproni Aeronautical Museum in the arvo however it is a difficult place to get to so we settled for panini and a trip on the cable car up to Sardegna which overlooks Trento. Apparently the area was bombed in 1943/44.
Some pasta for dinner, get the gear ready and try to get an good nights sleep...
... as previous owners have added to it through the middle ages and on to more recent times, also many artistic influences including Byzantine, Gothic, Renaissance and others. There are many frescos adorning the exterior and especially the interior ceilings and walls, the most famous is the Eagle Tower which contains the Cycles of the Months which covers all four walls of the room and has a separate fresco for each month.

After that, Rach and I headed into town for the opening ceremony, trying to keep the eyes open by then. It was held in the Piazza Duomo which is quite spectacular and a cloud shrouded moon made for some good pics.
Had some pasta for dinner and headed back to the Hotel after that, try to catch up on some sleep...
