Not such a spectacular scenery but beatiful enaugh, the route along the second part of the southern coastal route was enjoyment for any biker. Unfotunatley enaugh, the fact that my rear shock was about to say goodbye by loosing the oil was reason why I was distracted for much of the time. How to get this bloody shock repaired or even replaced?
A real highlight was a meeting of a turkish biker who owned a ...

I couldn't find a patch for my backpack so instead of being hassled to buy something, we spent the afternoon on the beach.

It was also Ramadan so it was a strange combination of experiences since we were awaken everyday at 4am (well actually I slept through it) with a small parade and drum announcing the call to prayer (and then10 times a day) while we visited the House of Mary and St. John's Basilica. Did not buy a rug which is the most popular thing they sell.

... C. and fading by 700 A.D. The ruins are quite well preserved...marble streets, library, gymnasium, hamam baths, council halls, agoras and temples, of course! The terraced houses of the upper class of Ephesus which are currently being excavated were fascinating! They were filled with frescoes on the walls and mosaics on the floor. They even had a heating and cooling system using water! At the stadium which held 25,000 people we met another family ...

... was built to convey the importance and to accommodate all the activity of people with questions for the oracle. This oracle gave the direction to Diocletian to persecute the Christian Church, and Constantine, not many years later, executed the priests there. What was the best part of this trip was that I was away from the crowds all day. There were two small groups at Preine by the time I left and two others at Miletus when I was ...

... beer) and watching the football. We headed to the ruins at Ephesus the next day, which were far, far more impressive than Troy. The city was completed around 550BC and is famed for the Temple of Artemis (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World). The temple was destroyed in 401CE, but was then rebuilt again by Emperor Constantine I. Ephesus was also one of the Seven Churches of Asia (a.k.a. the Seven Churches of the Apocalypse) in the Book of Revelations ...

... around sampling fresh olives and strawberries. The afternoon we decided to try out bike riding around town where we meet a curious young boy who was in charge of a local ice cream cabinet. All we can say is that it was quite enjoyable buying ice creams from this young boy who appeared to be in his element as king of the ice creams (a young business man in the making).

... people just extend their hands and he pours some lemon-smell type liquid. We half KO (Knock Out)to the hotel. The concierge told us the room would be available at 9:00 am. Naty slept in the lounge sofa till 8.30 when they got the room ready...we felt really nasty from the whole day before...no shower, no toothbrush...and the whole night in that bus....eew...a shower was a must. Our room was just OK. Better than backpacker but less than independent traveler (specially the bathroom ...
