We decided to take the guided walk with the RSPB warden to learn about the island. For years it was farmed and because of many boat wrecks in the straits in the 18th and 19th century it became infested with rats. Not good for the birds! When RSPB bought it they began a campaign to rid the island of the rats and succeeded using a simple trap that got poison to the rats but not the other birds ...
