Warsaw stands apart in its role in fighting for the liberation of Poland, and as such, the culture and history on offer in this city is unique. We started our day with a visit to the Warsaw Uprising Museum, to get the low down on the demolition of the city of Warsaw in 1944. Poland fought on the side of the allied forces, and thus in theory with Russia against the Germans who were occupying Poland. I'd been admiring some of the heavier rain gear some of theother group members had -- mine is lighter, rain resistant, with pit zips. You know, kept me dry enough, and on that 20% downhill run after the worst was over, it's amazing how quickly you dry ...

... A rest back at our Pension and then dinner. The food and drink is soooo cheap here it's almost ridiculous . If we are really extravagant we spend $10 on lunch and $20 on dinner and that includes alcohol . Almost as cheap as Asia . Dinner tonight was in a traditional highland restaurant with a four piece band playing highland music. A very authentic experience though one would have to say that the music was not universally loved! Tomorrow historic Sandomiesz on the way back to ...
