The next morning, I continued my trip across the state, stopping at Spis Castle along the way. Perched on a hilltop above a charming village, the castle is everything that anybody could want from a medieval fortress. The musicians weren't getting tips from the locals and when the violinist offered me the chance to play, I offered him 2 euros instead. He deftly put it in the breast pocket of his traditional vest. I'm not sure if he shared it with the other guys, but that's his dealio.

    ... and the occasional Germans.

We plan to do some day hiking in a few days there and take some funiculars, trams, and gondolas to get to the top of the highest peak.

The 4 star hotel room was a great recuperation spot. We haven't had any horrible rooms so far, but we have been making sacrifices to meet our budget. The weird thing about Aqua City, and many newer European hotels we've been in, is that they ...
