We have been staying at the cutest gasthof I have ever seen! It is a newly built barn conversion with modern facilities and it is in a very remote location. The furnishings are all wooden and when you step into your room, you are immediately hit with pine fragrance. ... cliff edges and so I decided to head back via that pass. It would not add much time onto my journey as it would bring me back out at the summit junction where both Falzarego and Valparola Passes meet.

Coffee drunk and one last cuddle for the moggy it was off yet again down the western side of Giau pass and after the 27 or so hairpins I turn right along the cliff edge road and passed Belvedere Cafe on the cliff and finally onto the lower section of Falzarego Pass.

... the best hotel yet here in the Alps I headed off into the main town of Mirano in hope to see some of the city itself. However I must have been in the wrong area or there was simply not much to see and after filling up the bike I headed off to find the pass road to Timmelsjoch which is right on the border to Austria.

The main road north out of Mirano is quite twisty and scenic but again is full of trucks and tractors and so is no pleasure to ride.
