... well known for its local dishes, and enjoyed our meal immensely. We savored a bottle of Barbera d'Alba and shared three dishes - an antipasti of carne crude, a first course of the plin, and a third course of local fish with roasted vegetables. (Side note: one thing we discovered is that Piemonte lacked vegetables on their menu, at least, the places we went to). We finished with espresso, of course, and instead of cookies ...

... we found this amazing local Pizza place, it one that the locals use, so there was no English going on at all. But we got 2 medium Pizza's for euros 7, can't moan about that, and we couldn't even eat it all.

... a type of profiterole with their fruit salad I had semifreddo (yum). A long lunch in a courtyard in Piedmont is not a bad way to spend an afternoon. We weaved our way back to catch the bus back to Asti. Pity the passengers who had to share the bus with our rowdy mob. There are cars with horns blaring and shouting in the street - Juventus drew with Madrid so they are in the Champions League final. Happy Italian football fans ...
