    ... your main actually with the main…we didn't complain of course, we're British don't you know! Bulgarian food also seems to be fairly bland. They think everyone wants to eat pizza! And you have to be very specific if you want a cup of coffee - you get espresso or it might be latte… maybe even a cappuccino.     ... with castle and some Roman ruins but it's now mostly a nature reserve. It's probably most famous for the 40 virgins who tied their hair together and threw themselves off the cliffs rather than being ravaged by the invading Ottomans...

    We have really enjoyed this bit of Bulgaria. The weather could have been kinder but in the summer this area could be a really nice holiday (if your a golfer!).

    Queen Marie was a grand daughter of Queen Victoria and the wife of King Ferdinand of Romania and she built herself a small summer house with just 3 bedrooms in Balchik overlooking the Black Sea where she could be alone with her daughters.     Now we are happily installed in a self catering apartment on the Cape Kaliakra where there are 3 golf courses. This detour to Bulgaria has been so Charlie could play at the amazing cliff hanging Thracian Cliffs course, but there is some doubt whether he can get a round (fully booked amazingly) in the next 3 days. We had no idea it would be such an issue but we are talking to a girl with influence tomorrow fingers crossed.
