Niewazne, kto wymyslil! Wazne, ze szczesliwie jestesmy na miejscu.
Kierujemy sie do Tihany, ktore znajduje sie na malym polwyspie na Balatonem.
Kazdy z nas ma jakies wspomnienia z tych miejsc: z blizszego lub dalszego dziecinstwa.

Fajne lokum w wymarlym miasteczku znajdujemy bez trudu... jestesmy jedynymi ...

Tihany is a small peninsula on the northern side of Lake Balaton, it was a 45min bus ride from Balatonfured... The town centre was extremely provincial, with the exception of some very touristy/souvenir shops there was very little else there...

We arrived at Baltonfured by train and with a little help from the locals we found out which bus to catch to reach our campsite. We decided to stay in a cabin, rather than pitch a tent for three days with a strong prediction of rain. We were quite excited by our little cabin, which had a bathroom and kitchen and verandah out the back ...

... want to stop at Bratislava, the Slovak capital. This is a nice place with an historic center, showing of old buildings and a castle on a hill. Throughout the center statues have been posted, and, like any other tourist, we try to spot all! Some hard work to find the 'working man', but of course we found him in the end! For lunch I decide to have a garlic soup……well good choice for me, but not for Mira as she has to suffer for another day ...

Today we got off to a slow start. It was cold and rainy. Our muscles weren't really working. We visited Kethzley the town and found ourselves eating pizza in a warm restaurant where they had internet maybe even before noon.

Once we got motivated we followed a bike path part way around lake balaton. There were not a lot of opportunities to see the lake from the path but it was nice to ...

... The bridge here was built in the thirties and demolished by the retreating Germans in 1944. It's a long bridge and still only crosses the main channel. The town itself has some old bildings but its very noticeable that it's much poorer then Budapest.. The pavements are broken and ramshackle its dusty and the houses are older and needing more repair. Next on the list was to buy lunch at Spa ...

... is a beautiful view of the Lake. You can walk down to the ferry along a pathway (I don`t recommend for the eldery, because it`s too steep) or take the sightseeing train which leaves from the main street, called Kossuth Lajos utca. The peninsula has two inside lakes as well. Tihany has vineyards, the Balaton area is famous for its wine and lavender.

... vďaka pieskovcovej vyvýsenine, v týchto miestach lemujúcej pobrezie Balatónu. Pred mestečkom Balatonvilágos cyklotrasa opäť klesá na úroveň pobrezia. V Balatonvilágos sa s Broňou pokúsame spomenúť si na PIN k nasim kreditným kartám, neúspesne. Navyse, ako zisťujem v obchode, bankomat je prázdny. V meste Siofóg kupujem mapu celého Maďarska a konečne meníme v zmenárni ďalsie peniaze. 43.03km 13:31 hod prichádzame do mesta ...

... We ontdekken in de ADAC dat er 95 kilometer naar het oosten, voorbij de Donau, een redelijke camping moet zijn. Weliswaar door Nederlanders gerund, maar voor één nachtje moet dat wel te doen zijn. Onderweg komen we door Dunaföldvar, een schattig plaatsje aan de Donau. Jammer dat daar geen goede camping is. Volgens de Tourinform-kaart is er wel een camping, maar kennelijk niet geschikt voor campers en caravans. Onderweg naar Vajta zien we overal stalletjes waar watermeloenen verkocht ...
